Chip Williams has been litigating public entity cases in Southern West Virginia for over twenty-two years. During his career, Mr. Williams has conducted over thirty trials in both State and Federal Court.

Chip was born and raised in Beckley, West Virginia. He attended West Virginia University earning his B.S. in Accounting in 1996. He continued his education at the West Virginia University College of Law and earned his J.D. in 1999. While at West Virginia University, Mr. Williams was a cum laude graduate of the College of Business & Economics. He also served as the Summit (equivalent of president) of Mountain Honorary (WVU’s ranking honorary).

Chip currently manages the Beckley office of Pullin, Fowler, Flanagan, Brown, & Poe, PLLC.

Chip’s practice primarily focuses on representation of governmental enti-ties including, municipalities, in a vast array of civil matters. He has represented municipalities in litigation concerning officer involved shootings, wrongful termination, discrimination, wage payment collection act , and various other legal allegations.

In 2014, Chip received the inaugural Mentor of the Year award, presented by the Young Lawyer’s Section of the West Virginia State Bar. In 2021, Chip was named a West Virginia Bar Foundation Fellow. This award recognized him for his service in the legal profession as well as his dedication to the welfare of his community. He currently serves on the Board of Directors for Brian’s Safe House and the Sparrow’s Nest, which are long term, faith-based addiction treatment facilities. He is the owner and head coach at CrossFit Coal where twice a week he works with and mentors men who are in addiction recovery.

Chip conducts staff training for various Boards of Education, law enforcement agencies, and other public entities. He represents clients through AIG, Travelers, and the West Virginia Risk Pool. AIG has recognized Chip as one of their top 10 litigation attorneys in the United States.

Chip is happily married to Hollie, a speech and language pathologist with the Raleigh County Board of Education.
